A beautiful dream came true from 23 to 30 January 2010
At the General Assembly in Jasna (March 2008), Oukaïmeden in the Atlas mountains of Morocco was chosen unanimously to host the SCIJ’s 56th international meeting.
It was in the Belgium SCIJ that the idea first came up to welcome Europe’s southern neighbors into the big SCIJ family. Morocco and Belgium have close ties, due to the important Moroccan community living in Belgium.
It was thus an obvious decision for both countries to apply jointly for the organization of the SCIJ’s 2010 meeting in Oukaïmeden.
At only 1,5 hours from the splendors of Marrakech, the Atlas mountains are a haven of unspoilt natural beauty. Moreover, Morocco offers a wealth of topics for journalists.
